1. Overview
Execute is the operator's workspace for loading data into OnCoor from your connected source systems. It's where the day-to-day running happens: pull fresh data into a table that's already set up, or take a brand-new source table all the way from "we can see it on the source" to "it's loaded and ready" — in one guided flow.
The page gathers every table it can see across your sources, sorts them by how ready each one is, and gives you the right action for each. Behind the scenes this uses OnCoor's Quick Import process; you don't need to know its inner workings, but this guide explains what each step is doing so the progress display makes sense.
What you can do here
- See all your tables at a glance, grouped by whether they're ready to run, half-set-up, or not yet brought in.
- Run a table that's already set up to load or refresh its data.
- Set up & Run a new table — bring it in and load it in one go.
- Watch live progress as each load works through its steps.
- Resume or clean up setups that were left unfinished.
WHERE TO FIND IT — This page lives under Data Update → Execute. It's marked Operator — this is the running surface, as opposed to the admin setup pages under Config.
2. Key Concept: The Three Table States
Every table on the page is in one of three states, which decides what you can do with it. They show as coloured badges and as filter chips at the top of the list.
| State | What it means | The action |
|---|---|---|
| Ready | Fully set up — OnCoor already knows how to load it. | Run — load or refresh its data. |
| Pending | Started but not finished — brought part-way in, but setup isn't complete. | Resume Setup to finish it, or clear it out. |
| Discoverable | Visible on a source system but not yet brought into OnCoor. | Set up & Run — bring it in and load it. |
Rule of thumb: Discoverable = not in OnCoor yet, Pending = half-way there, Ready = good to go. Running a Discoverable table is what moves it all the way to Ready.
3. Finding Your Way Around
Across the top, a row of summary tiles shows how many tables are Ready, Pending setup, and Discoverable, plus how many records were loaded in the last 24 hours — a quick pulse of what's set up and what's been happening.
Below that, the page has two panes:
- Left — Tables. The unified list of every table, grouped by state (Ready, then Pending, then Discoverable). When more than one source feeds the list, each state groups again by source. Use the search box to find a table by name, the state chips to focus on one group, and Refresh from sources to re-scan your source systems for newly-added tables.
- Right — the work area. Empty until you pick something. Selecting tables fills it with the matching action (a Run pane, or the Set up & Run wizard) and, once you start, a live progress display.
You can select several tables at once to act on them together — but only within the same state: pick a set of Ready tables to run as a batch, or a set of Discoverable tables to set up as a batch. Mixing the two in one batch isn't allowed, and picking a row in a different state starts a fresh selection.
REFRESH FROM SOURCES — The Discoverable list comes from OnCoor scanning your sources. If a table was just added on a source system, click Refresh from sources to re-scan and bring it into the list. (Only SQL Server and Oracle sources can be scanned.)
4. Running a Ready Table
A Ready table is already set up, so running it simply loads its latest data.
Steps
- Select one or more Ready tables (tick their checkboxes).
- In the right pane, click Run (or Run all for a batch).
- Watch the progress display as each table loads. Ready rows also show when they were last run (for example, "Last run · 5m ago") so you can see what's current.
Because a Ready table's setup is already in place, running it skips straight to the load — the earlier setup steps are shown as skipped in the progress display.
5. Setting Up and Running a New Table
A Discoverable table isn't in OnCoor yet, so it needs to be set up before — or at the same time as — its first load. Set up & Run does the whole thing in one guided flow.
Steps
- Select one or more Discoverable tables.
- The right pane opens the Set up & Run wizard.
- Choose how far to take it:
- Set up & Run — do everything, ending with the data loaded. This is the usual choice.
- Set up only — prepare the table but stop short of loading, so you can run it later.
- Start it, and watch the progress display work through the steps (explained in the next section).
ALL-OR-NOTHING — Set up is atomic: if any step fails, none of it is kept. The table simply stays Discoverable, so you can fix the issue and try again without leaving a half-finished setup behind.
6. What the Steps Mean
Whether you're running or setting up, progress is shown as a strip of steps that light up as each one finishes. Here's what each is doing, in plain terms:
| Step | What's happening |
|---|---|
| Intake | OnCoor reads the source table's structure — its columns and types. |
| Mapping | Those columns are matched to a place in OnCoor. |
| Approve | The mapping is confirmed so it can be used. |
| Generate ETL | OnCoor builds the load routine that will move the data. |
| Run | The data is actually loaded. |
Each step shows as done, in progress, waiting, skipped, or failed:
- A plain Run on a Ready table shows the four setup steps as skipped — they were done long ago — and just the Run step working.
- Set up only shows every setup step running, with Run marked skipped.
- If something fails, the step that failed is flagged, and the message tells you what went wrong so you (or an administrator) can act.
7. Resuming or Clearing a Pending Setup
A Pending table is one where setup began but didn't finish — perhaps the mapping wasn't completed, or the load routine was never built. These rows show what's missing and give you two choices:
- Resume Setup — pick up where it left off and complete the remaining steps.
- Delete the stuck setup — clear out the half-finished pieces so the table goes back to being Discoverable and you can start clean. You'll be asked to confirm.
SOME PENDING ROWS CAN'T BE CLEARED HERE — If a table was brought in a different way (for example, set up to be edited in its source system on the Data Update Preparation page, or one that already has a live load pipeline), the page won't delete it from here and tells you where to unwind it instead. This protects setups that other things depend on.
8. Other Actions
A few less-common actions live on the table rows:
| Action | When to use it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Regenerate ETL & Run | A Ready table's load routine needs rebuilding — for example, a previous run failed part-way. Found on the caret next to Run. | Rebuilds the load routine from scratch, then runs it. You'll be asked to confirm, because it replaces the existing load setup. |
| Move to Quick Import | A table that was set up to be edited directly in its source (via Data Update Preparation) should instead be brought into OnCoor. | Removes that earlier setup so the table returns to Discoverable here, ready for Set up & Run. You'll be asked to confirm. |
THESE ARE OCCASIONAL — Most days you'll only use Run and Set up & Run. Reach for Regenerate or Move to Quick Import only when something needs rebuilding or re-routing.
9. Quick Reference
